Weddings in Tobago
Tobago is an ideal place for your dream wedding in the sun. From a white sand, palm fringed beach to an exotic tropical garden or a sail boat on the ocean, you do not have to look far to find a beautiful setting to tie the knot.
It takes 3 full days after the day of your arrival to establish residency and then your planner takes you off to the Warden's Office to fill out some forms and pay for. your wedding licence (50US) and that's it! Just remember to take along your passport, a divorce certificate if applicable, or if a widow or widower, a death certificate.
Please note though, that the office is not open at weekends or on public holidays, so you may have to wait a day or two longer. Expect to pay around 150US for the ceremony, this should include receiving 2 marriage certificates. The officiant/pastor will usually meet with you before the ceremony to discuss any special requirements. The law requires two witnesses at the ceremony and that they produce their passports or if its just the two of you, a picture ID ( local driving licence) if you decide to invite new found local friends to do the job!
Please check beforehand with your home country to see if there are any extra legal documents/requirements needed for you to register your wedding when you get home.
After the wedding it is important that you make the necessary arrangements for the certificates to be sent to you in the event that they will not be ready before you go home.
When setting the time for your wedding ceremony, note that it must be completed and the register signed before 6pm.
